On the of June 2016, Kate and William made their first return to Northern Ireland, since their Engagement tour of the UK. The Baron and Lady Carrickfergus, their title Northern Ireland, were due to attend a garden Party at Hillsborough Castle hosted by the Secretary of State. Hillsborough is the official residence of the royal family and the Secretary of State, while in Northern Ireland, located not too far from Belfast. The current Secretary of State is Theresa Villiers. While there the couple planted a tree to mark their visit.
