On the 13th of June 2016, Kate and William joined other royals for the annual Order of the Garter ceremony. This for me was an exciting day for me, as I had only a month ago, walked the path, Kate and William took by car(although there was a lot for sun on the day, I visited). The recent terrorist attack in Orlando, changed some of the usual ceremonial events. Instead of the soldiers, who usually lined the route, police lined the route instead. For the second day in a row, The royals didn’t seem to mind ain, but the carriages , which the royals usually take after the ceremony, were change to cars, this year. Also for the first time, since 1971, the first part of the ceremony to St. George’s Chapel, was cancelled. Usually the knights walk to St. George’s Chapel but today, they took cars.
