On the 1st of July 2016, Kate, William, Harry attended a Commemoration for the 100th anniversary of the Battle of the Somme at the Thiepval Memorial. They were also here to open the Thiepval museum. They started their day off in the museum. The trio saw a mural, which lines the wall of the Thiepval centre, telling the history of the battles in the Somme countryside. After this they were joined by, Prince Charles, the Duchess of Cornwall, President François Hollande, David Cameron, Vice Admiral Sir Tim Laurence, President Michael Higgins, and others. After the Ceremony, Kate, William and Harry, chatted with the French, British and Irish pupils, who placed wreaths on the graves. This also gave, the trio time to practice their French.
