On the 11 of October 2016, Kate undertook her first solo overseas trip to the Netherlands( Kate was due to undertake a solo overseas trip to Malta in 2014, but had to cancel due to her illness with Charlotte). Kate arrived in the Netherlands on a British Airways flight. Kate started her day with a welcoming visit from King Willem-Alexander at his private residence, The Villa Eikenhorst. Where Kate and King Willem-Alexander also had lunch.
After lunch, Kate visited the Mauritshuis art museum. Kate was there to see, the collection At Home in Holland.
This collection includes pieces on loan from the British Royal Collection. while in the Museum, Kate visited attended a children’s Art programme. After this, Kate visited The British Ambassador’s residence, to attended discuss Addiction and Mental Health.
Where two charities Kate’s patron of, Action on Addiction and the Anna Freud Centre and a Charity based in the Netherlands attended. After this Kate travelled from the Hague to Rotterdam. Her only visit in Rotterdam was to Bouwkeet.
Her visit here was to see a creative workshop. While here, Kate talked to Local women and Teenagers.
